"Feeling Torn About This Service..."
I’ve got some mixed emotions regarding this service and its customer support. I mainly use it to get around geo-restrictions so I can catch a TV show or two, maybe five or six times a year. Most of the time, it works like a charm—EXCEPT when I try to watch my beloved British rugby union, which is usually available on BBC and ITVX. These channels are notorious for blocking VPNs, but I usually don’t run into issues with SmartDNSProxy servers—unless there’s a big event like Rugby or, say, the US NFL Super Bowl.

What happens every time is that the sound cuts in and out, and there’s no picture at all. If everything works fine before and after the game, then it seems like there’s a glitch somewhere else. Bandwidth? Who knows. What really gets under my skin is the standard support response—asking for screenshots of my network settings. Seriously? I’m using an Apple TV with a DNS I set up manually (the IP was given to me by support!), so what’s a screenshot from my Mac gonna do?

And to top it all off, during the two rugby matches I completely missed yesterday, the 'Zendesk Chat 24/7 Live Support' was nowhere to be found. Too many support calls? Probably, but who can say for sure. This company sure doesn’t prioritize transparency.

UPDATE: It’s been a week since I submitted a ticket to Smart DNS Proxy’s “help desk,” and I haven’t heard a peep. I tried their chat bot for an update, and the responder, 'Ian C,' just shut the chat down and removed the bot. I’m dropping my rating to one star and cautioning anyone thinking about signing up with this company to reconsider.

UPDATE 2: Thanks for the response and the emails I’ve received since I aired my issue on Facebook, Twitter, and Trustpilot. It’s a shame I had to go that route to get a reply. I’ll give your support team’s suggestion a shot—logging into your server to monitor the traffic to my device during the next sporting event. If my computer can stream the channel but my Apple TV can’t, that’s just not gonna cut it. I can’t watch these events on my computer, and I’ll keep looking for a VPN that works with Apple TV. Thanks.

"Fantastic Support Experience!"
I gotta say, the service is top-notch! Still scratching my head about why you switch your DNS servers to ones closer to your area for UK platforms, but hey, it all works like a charm. I had to grab a secondary router to tweak the DNS settings, so a bit of tech know-how is needed. I've been with them for years and have never been this impressed with online support! You always seem to be number one in the queue! Keep up the great work!

"Excellent Service from Smart for Two Years"
I've been using Smart for a couple of years now, and I can honestly say their service has been top-notch. Never faced any issues, and my internet speed has consistently been at 147 Mbps—no dips at all. I was thinking about renewing my plan, but the price in the UK was a bit steep. So, I reached out to Smart DNS VPN, and they sorted everything out in just a few hours, offering me a much better deal with a discount code. Their customer service was fantastic; they jumped right on it. I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot for a month and see how it goes. Plus, I’ve got another two years locked in until 2025 with a discount again. Oh, and it works great on phones and tablets with the app. I travel a lot for work, and it’s super convenient to just take my Surface along and stream as long as I have internet access. "A Positive Experience"
I tried out the service for a few days without paying before deciding to go for a subscription. It does what it’s supposed to do, and I was quite pleased with it, but unfortunately, it just isn’t the right fit for me. I’m on the lookout for something that offers a bit more freedom than what this service can give. One thing I found annoying was having to register my IP every time my router got a new one from my ISP. I didn’t check out the smart DNS on a phone that wasn’t connected to my home network with the registered IP. The customer service was super prompt and got back to me really fast. I hope others find more enjoyment with this service.

"Always Smooth Sailing Until Now..."
Always Smooth Sailing Until Now, the only issue I'm facing is with Tmobile home internet and its constant IP changes. But I reckon a noip account will fix those IP shifts, which will cost me around 20 bucks. Plus, using my second router helps hide ISP snooping and works like a charm with Real Debrid.
